I recently picked up a copy of Loft Classics: Volume 5. The 12-inch record contains three solid disco classics, including The Meters' "It Ain't No Use" and The Beginning Of The End's "When She Made Me Promise". The track that really moves me on this record, however, is Brass Construction's 1975 classic "Movin'". This song is taken off of Brass Construction's self-titled debut LP, Brass Construction. This song was later released as a single in both 12" and 7" formats by United Artists Records. This "mostly instrumental" dance classic was a staple at the New York 1970's disco clubs, including of course The Loft, The Paradise Garage, and The Gallery, among many others. Another classic disco gem, highlighted by th Loft Classics Series.
