The Boogie Breakdown

Another record I bought over the past few months, that I've been enjoying to quite a bit lately, is Boogie People's rare 1979 self-titled LP. This record featured the lovely singing of Silvie Doucet, Tiziana Bibbo, and Anna Bibbo, better known as The Unique. This was one of those late 70's disco records that comprised of only four solid cuts. I find that as disco was entering into it's last days, producers tended to cut the fat and fill up both sides of a record with more hi-energy cuts while dumping the slower and mid tempo ballads that tended to take up space. That being said, the Boogie People lp, which was produced by Dominic Sciullo and Vincent Ciambrone while also featuring Bruno Perri of the Erotic Drum Band, consisted of solid cuts from top to bottom including the title track "Boogie People" and "Boogie Breakdown" to name my personal favorites. Overall it's a great record and another great find from this past year. Enjoy!
