In 2004, Moxie records released one of my favorite disco re-edits with C2C4's re-take on Loleatta Holloway's disco classic "Hit and Run". C2C4 is a Carl Craig alias that mixes Carl Craig and Manuel Göttsching's E2E4 (sounds like an amazing combination!). His 12-plus minute re-edit of "Hit and Run", re-titled "Specimen 4" is found on the 12-inch single Specimen 4, 5 & 6. This song definately has a taste of a classic Larry Levan edit that flows with tons of soul and cosmic energy. I also decided to throw in C2C4's re-edit of one of my all-time favorite songs "Once in a Lifetime" by the Talking Heads. Re-titled "Specimen 2, this song appear on Specimen 1 & 2 released back in '03. Moxie has a great reputation for putting out quality re-edited disco records, and these two releases definately hover around the top.C2C4 - Specimen 4
