Last Post Until I Get Back From Europe
Never Stop Dancin'

With this being my last blog post for about a week and a half, with me visiting London & Paris, I definitely wanted to leave everybody with some good disco & italo while I'm gone. The first being one of my personal favorites, Capricorn's "Pow Pow Pow" and the instrumental version of "Capricorn", which can almost always be heard every single week at Seattle's disco night Studio!. Both tracks were released in 1980 off of Emergency Records and produced by Claudio Simonetti & Giancarlo Meo, whom also where the minds behind the legendary italo group Easy Going. Next is Matsubara 1984 cosmic disco cut "S. O. S. (Society Of Soul)", which has a bit of a 70's game show feel to it that I love. You can find a really good Prins Thomas edit of this track on his Diskomiks EP that came out on Rong Music a few years back. And finally, because I will be in Paris, here is a 1979 french disco cut entitled, "Je Survivrai (I Will Survive)" by Régine that Terry aka (DJ H.M.A.) turned me on to. BTW, Terry has some amazing cuts from Easy Going over on his blog that I would recommend checking out, among other great disco and italo.

Capricorn - Pow Pow Pow
Capricorn - Capricorn (Instrumental)
Matsubara - S. O. S. (Society Of Soul)
Régine - Je Survivrai (I Will Survive)

Remember, if your in Paris next weekend, I will be doing a couple of DJ-sets at Tape on May 30th and Mein Disko, Le Paris Paris on May 31st. Cosmic Disco, Italo, Salsoul classics, disco edits, and basically everything that I post on this blog.

If your in Seattle, drop by Havana on Wednesday for Studio!. DJ H.M.A. and Gene from the Emerald City Soul Club will be holding down the fort while I'm gone. Wednesday's are started to get crazy, so don't miss out on the good times.

See you when I get back!

A week without sweet disco jams?! A difficult week, no doubt, since this blog has become one of my favs.

That French version of 'I Will Survive' is a funny one! The singer sounds a bit like Edith Piaf ('Non Je Ne Regrette Rien'). Have fun in France!

OMG I've been totally looking for "I'll Never Stop Dancing" by Regine, it would be so wonderful to hear that song, could you post it?

Thank you so much,

Kevin

Hi AA,

No Way! You pulled the Regine out of the hat. Thank you for posting! I'm always looking for more foreign language covers, ever since I started mixing 'No Nos Pararan' with 'Ain't No..." years ago. I will wait patiently, enjoy the holiday.

Peace, Jerome
