Today, I thought I would post another great cut from Ray Mang's excellent Mangled Again release. This track, titled "Cereal Lover" has an overall cosmic disco groove that is primed perfectly for the dancefloor. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out who did the original. Therefore, hopefully one of the readers of this site can help me out a little bit on this one. Before appearing on the Mangled Again CD, the edit was first included on a twelve-inch release back in 2008. This edit continues to be one of my personal favorites from Mang, who certainly has quite a selection of great edits to choose from. Regardless who produced the original, Ray Mang has used his re-working magic to produce another quality dancefloor gem in "Cereal Lover". Enjoy!
Ray Mang - Cereal Lover
Side Note: I am a true "cereal lover", who eats about one bowl of cereal a day. My favorite cereal has to be Cinnamon Toast Crunch. For fun, are there any other true cereal lovers out there?

can't get any good cereal in tokyo so I've been mostly without for years now. cinnamon toast crunch is definitely the boss though I also have a soft spot in my heart for golden grahams. oh and cheers for the track.
Sugar Frosted Lover - FLAKES on Salsoul Records ... great remake ... better groove then the original ...
Honey Nut Cheerios EVERY MORNING (while listening to American Athlete of course).
Peanut Butter Captain Crunch!!!!
yep what Thurston said ..
Always eat shredded wheat - but I can't eat three! Even after 'disco burn'.
Myself and a few friends were just debating who did the original to the Ray Mang edit and of course within minutes we were on the net and none of the reviews had any idea (when they say an edit of an "underground classic" it means they have not got a clue) so when I saw you were asking I did not hold out much hope.
But thanks to that wonderful anonymous, its an edit of the instrumental version of the 1980 UK jazz-funk track 'Sugar Frosted Lover' by Flakes, mixed by the mighty Rick Gianatos (though there is some dispute about this as Jimmy Simpson mixed the original and it does sound a little like his kind of arrangement such as his mix of Kiss Me Again where he really straddles that avant-jazzfunk almost prog vibe with the guitars).
Anyway, I found a link to the instrumental version, it is embedded in a flash player but sounds pretty great:

Near mint copy of the twelve for less than ten pounds on Discogs, if I still bought vinyl I would be snapping this up!
Without a doubt, heads and shoulders above every other edit on the Ray Mang album, in fact I would go so far as to say, its the best thing he has done.
