When The Whistle Blows

The other day I was excited to pick up a copy of La Flavour's 1980 disco classic Mandolay. This record contains the slowed down disco gem and one of my personal favorite cuts in "When The Whistle Blows". The first time I heard the track it blew me away, at the time visioning the song in one of those more cosmic Prins Thomas or Rune Rune lindbæk mixes. Mandolay features other standout tracks like "Can't Kill The Beat", which is an 1980 argument that disco isn't dead, and the album's title track and single "Mandolay". The record also features one of those "can't miss" album covers that disco became known for. Overall, it was another nice find, especially since I had been looking for a vinyl cut of "When The Whistle Blows" for quite sometime.
