Afro Jungle Music

Here is a rare Afro funk track from the Kelenkye Band, titled "Jungle Music". This track was originally released on the group's 1974 hard-to-find album Moving World. The track was also more recently included on the amazing "Bilongo - A Third Collection Of Modern Afro Rhythms" compilation, which I've discussed a number of times on this site. This song has an early seventies funk feel, similar to the sound that groups like War, Cymande, and Mandrill were producing during that time. Overall, another solid dose of rare African funk!

I actually bought the "Bilongo A Third Collection Of Modern Afro Rhythms" CD based on your recommendation and to be honest, it was the only way I was going to ever own the Eko track (one 12 inch on Discogs for £500!) and this was the other track that really stood out...I had no idea they did an album so thanks for the heads up on that....another afro track with that great western seventies soul/funk vibe....

...though I can't help but wondering how this would have sounded like if Walter Gibbons or Tom Moulton had got there alchemical hands on it!
