So nice they named them twice...as the saying goes.
However, if you heard these two Night Version tracks you might be naming them ten times. Duran Duran first released the Nite Romantics record as a Japanese Import in 1981, only to have the songs later released in Australia in 1982, and finally in the states in the same year. The orginal Nite Romantics LP consisted of the "night version mixes" of "Planet Earth" and "Girls on Film", along with the Bowie cover of "Fame". The "night version mixes" have their own cult following, and are Duran Duran's answer for the underground electro dance clubs of the early 80's. In my opinion, the greatness of this band comes out with these two songs. They could be considered some of the greatest and earliest re-edits of all-time.
Most people have heard these versions, or killed someboady to get a hold of these two classic re-edits, however if you haven't, your in for a treat.

hi,
cool post...'nite romantics' is a great ep. it has an amazing sleeve as well.
one little thing...duran duran had a special way of doing the night versions. they aren't remixes//re-edits, they are actually re-recorded versions of the tracks played live. what they would do is rehearse the different arrangements and then record them live. so the extended parts of the tracks are actually live bits and not cut ups of the shorter versions.
