Asphalt Boogie

A track that has really been growing on me as of late has been Asphalt Jungle's 1979 rare disco cut "Freakin' Time Pt.1". From what I'm able to find, it seems like this was the only release by this group which consisted of James Hicks and drummer/producer Keith Benson who collaborated on many of the classic MFSB releases. I find that this rare funky gem gets better the more you listen to it, however you might just fall in love with the track, like many, immediately.

I agree with your comments. I have this 12" and its always been a favourite of mine. There has been a couple of different versions.

I bought this on import along with Chain Reaction's Dance Freak when they were new releases and have been on the decks ever since.

I deejay every Wednesday night at Havana (1010 E Pike Street). It's a fun night of disco and italo. Fill free to stop by.
