I posted the six minute version of Lamont Dozier's 1977 "Going Back To My Roots" a few years back on this blog, however I've never shared the extended nine-plus minute version that is featured on his Peddlin' Music On The Side album. This extended version of the track remains an all-time favorite of mine. You can almost slice the song in two parts, one being the funky soul beginning and the second half which is like a heavy Afro-beat jam. Both movements of the song are absolutely amazing and surprisingly compliment each other nicely. This is one of those tracks that never quite get tired of hearing in it's entirety. Enjoy!Lamont Dozier - Going Back To My Roots
