Disco in Dakar

Here is another standout gem, titled "Africa Africa" from Black Soul's amazing 1977 self-titled album. I've posted other tracks from this record in previous posts. The album, which was mixed by Tom Moulton, is solid from start to finish with funky African disco cuts like "Black Soul Music", "Mangous Ye", and "People", among others. Overall, I can't recommend this album enough as it remains to be one of my all-time favorites. In my opinion, this record should be considered as one of the greatest African disco records of all-time. Nothing more needs to be said. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the enlightenment, Over the last couple of years I have found the odd track by 'Black Soul' such as 'Disco Music' & 'Lets Dance' and my personal all time favourite 'Black Soul Music' but I presumed they were MP3 rips of obscure seven inches as I coul not find out anything about I discover its a Tom Moulton produced album from '77! I am baffled that it as escaped my radar!
I tried to download the copy of Black Soul Music but the link seems dead (I have a 192 bit version and was hoping yours would be better quality!)
I would love to hear more tracks from the album, the Mangous Ye track is mindblowing in its afropsychedelicgroove glory.
Have you re-edited any Black Soul tracks? I love the flavour you bring to your re-edits, exactly my kinda groove ;)

I'm actually working on a re-edit of Black Soul's "Black Soul Music" for the next Cabana Disco record, which will be coming out in early spring. It will, of course, appear on this blog first for you to hear so stay tuned!

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
