One of my favorite re-edit twelves from last year tackled two of my favorite "non-so-guilty" pleasures in Mad Mats' The Blue Eyed Soul EP. On this release, Mad Mats' reworks both Kenny Loggins' "This Is It" and The Doobie Brothers' "What a Fool Believes", two tracks that I enjoy even without any re-tooling. That being said, Mad Mats' does an amazing job on this record at giving these two cuts a refreshing and new feel. My favorite of the two tracks in "This Is It", Mad Mats' adds some additional percussion grooves to give the song even more "push" for the dancefloor.
