Surfing to New York

Well, I'm taking the red-eye flight tonight to New York. This will be my first time in the Big Apple, a trip long over due. Thanks to everyone who gave me some info on good record stores to check out, I look forward to digging through crates of vinyl on the floor (this is seriously my favorite thing to do in the whole world). In honor of the long 5 plus hour flight from Seattle, Wa to New York, I'm going to feature Prins Thomas's remix of Sorcerer's "Surfing At Midnight". This 12-inch single which also features the orginal mix, came out a couple of months ago on Tirk Records, which was founded by Sav Remzi. Remzi also co-founded the now defunkt but legendary Nuphonic label. I don't think I could have picked a more perfect song for a midnight flight. This amazing 11 plus minute re-edit is a downtempo voyage that gives you a feeling as if Prins Thomas created the edit in an airport while waiting for the next flight to Oslo. I'll be definately listening to this song in the middle of the night tonight. See you when I get back (which is Monday Night)!
