Catch Me Tiger

This past year, one of the many groups that I got into for the first time was Arabesque. I was orginally blown away by the group's early singles during the late 1970's, which included classics like "Friday Night", "In The Heat Of A Disco Night", "Hello Mr. Monkey" etc. After re-reading some of the comments from previous posts, I find that most people on this blog either hate them or love them. With that being said, I think I found a song, "Catch Me Tiger", that I would challenge even the most critical readers to dislike. Like all of this group's good songs, "Catch Me Tiger" was one of their earliest releases and remains very hard-to-find on vinyl. Overall, I think it's a pretty amazing track from a group that I find to be a bit of a hit-and-miss when it comes to quality songs. Enjoy!

This one sounds a bit like Silver Convention in their heyday. Not bad at all!

This does sound a little like Silver Convention. Have you checked out Sandra's solo work from the 80's with her producer/husband Michael Cretu? It's pretty good....especially "Everlasting Love", "Hiroshima", and "We'll Be Together." Sandra came out with an album in 2002 called THE WHEEL OF TIME that's really good too (still looking very good based on the CD artwork).

Thanks for all the great music Pat. You make my daily workouts and runs a bit more pleasant with your tunes on my mp3 player!

Thanks for pointing out the Silver Convention comparison, there is definitely some similarities, at least in this song. Aren't they both german acts? Makes you wonder if one was influencing the other.

Well, Germans Silver Convention were first with hits in the mid seventies. Even musicians like Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards were inspired by the orchestral arrangements of 'Fly Robin Fly' for their typical Chic sound.

Well, 'Fly Robin Fly' is an amazing song to say the least. It makes sense.
